Our offset is 46mm. Beetles have 4-1/2j x 15 wheels in a variety of offsets, but they are still called "j" rims. Mercedes has a section in their manual that I should review, but I recall that they had several different rim profiles where the wheel weights mounted. I'll have to see if "j" is one of these. It looks like the site John J. found pins this down pretty well. If I read this right, our safety rims would be caompletely described as 4-1/2j x 15 H2, 46mm offset, where H2 means 2 rounded safety humps, 1 on each side. I guess that still leaves the bolt pattern and valve stem hole undefined. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
