<x-flowed> The o-ring was in stock at my local VW dealer! Just under three bucks after tax. I asked the guy behind the counter about where it was used on the A4s and NBs, but he was Mr. Goodwrench (it's a VW + Caddy dealer).

I'll report more after I confirm the leak location and replace the seal. I haven't been under the car because I've been under the weather.
