Cheers Neil, that makes me feel a little bit better. Its going to be a bugger to trace though (the nastier sound) as it only occurs when the car is driven in gear and more when the throttle is lifted and the engine back-driven at certain speeds. So I can't replicate it at roadside and analyse it. Mark ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
