Have you verified that even though the vac adv in the dist is functional you are actually getting vacuum from the carb? A blocked port in the carb would keep vac from getting to the dist, giving you no advance. Any chance that these are later carbs meant to be used with a dist that has both mech and vac adv? If that were the case, you would not get the advance that you wanted from them because the vac port drillings are in the wrong place. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
