It can be soldered if it broke at the very end or somewhere near the middle. I 
don't know what the wire is and I don't have replacements for it. You're right, 
you'd have to find exactly the right kind of wire to do this.

It would have to be the same length as our part, which means that there would 
then be no reason for it to have a different part #. So I don't think it's the 
same.

I may have a good used one, but they're not cheap.
