Do folks have additional suggestions of things to inspect? I'd offer him the guest bedroom for about 3 days while you go over a number of things. ;-) Check the brakes: linings, fluid and hoses, perhaps flush thru fresh DoT-3 brake fluid 'til it comes out clean, check and possibly repair the sway bar, lube the front end, check and replace the tranny fluid(s), check and replace the engine oil, check wheel bearings, clean out water drain hoses, check charging system regulating voltage, check cooling air intake bellows, check for cooling system parts and adjustment.... There's a lot of things that can go wrong in a cross country trip, and he doesn't want to have most of them happen in Wyoming. 8-O -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
