The gears changed, but the ratio didn't. They went to a finer tooth gear
for quieter running. They also changed in the T-1 at the same time.
And yes, the T-1 final ratio changed in '73, but it went to the the
3.875 ratio, IIRC. I don't have a book here that shows after '72.
The 3.875 ratio might not be the best for Jason in the Wyoming
mountains.
