ISP is correct. Only the late T3's (either 71-73 or 72-73, I forget which) have 42mm pistons and a ~3" mounting bolt spacing. The rest of the T3's, and all of the T1's, have 40mm pistons and a ~2.25" mounting bolt spacing. The earlier 40mm setups have one pin and the later ones have two, and all replacement ones have two pins and two bleeder screws for a universal configuration. They bolt in place of one another without a hitch - just different pads and pad hardware. The late T3 calipers are identical to an early 914 (either 69-72 or 69-73, again I forget which). They also have the same bolt pattern as a 78-83 (but not 77) BMW 320i with 48mm pistons :-).
