Yellow??? I never saw that before. It looks green on my monitor, but colors can 
be deceiving. This lens was green on my 68, but it changed to red soon after. I 
wonder if your yellow lens could be a green one which has bleached out from 
being overheated by a constantly ON oil light?  8-0

Right, the icons only started in 69, and I've never seen ones that look like 
the left and right ones you show in your type 34. All in all it seems like a 
silly thing for VW/VDO to mess with, but they've already demonstrated their 
willingness in this area by making the type 34 center dial inserts different.
