says to watch the offsets, but what is the offset of some these 
examples of successful application of larger aftermarket wheels?

Sorry so late, but I am trying to catch up with the digests.
I am running Porsche Boxster 16x7 at all four corners.  These 
were rear wheels only on a Boxster.  They are 50mm offset if I 
remember correctly.  I have 195/50/16 on front and I rub a little 
on inner fender at full lock.  I have 205/50/16 in rear with no 
problems, but I shaved a little off the bump stop reciever for my 
own piece of mind.  My car is lowered, there are no wheel 
spacers, and there has been no suspension narrowing.  All I did 
was change the lug pattern on the front discs, and order rear 
disc brake kit with Porsche pattern.
