[T3] Back from Portland, back on list

Actually, I got back Sunday night but needed time to rest up
and unload/wash/vacuum the car .. and work.

Toby, Marin, Peter, thanks for the tips ahead of time.  Sorry I didn't have
a chance to meet up with anyone; my wife was kinda being a stick-in-the-mud. 
I think leaving her purse at the DQ in Medford had something to do with it.  
Oh, Toby .. do you have a "TeleZapper" kind of tone on your cell's voicemail? 
I tried getting back to you from the motel phone Wednesday afternoon and it 
kept telling me your number was disconnected...?

And for all the warning I got about "idiot drivers", I didn't see anyone that
*I* would give that label -- probably the biggest idiot driver within half a 
mile of me .. *was* me (because I don't know the area).  I also noticed a 
distinct lack of "a$$holes", compared to here in NorCal.  And plenty of 
stripjoints, I'm so jealous! I wanna move, but that's not why.  Really, it's
not.  Lots of VWs, and you get better concerts. Sure, I could shell out 
$50 to watch Kenny G but that's about it unless I go to SF.  =I  And heck, I 
saw a yellow 412 cruising Powell! =)

Brian, sorry we missed you; you must have been out with the "new" Notch.  
Nice place you've got! =)  I hope that sender works out, I couldn't find 
my multimeter to test it with, but it should be fine.

Anyway .. oh, the drive home from Trinity County was an adventure.  We went 
to Eureka and down 101 .. but when we got to Garberville there was a little
thing about the highway being closed because of a slide further down.  We got 
back onto 101 south of the slide two hours later, after almost 40 miles of 
muddy windy mountain backroads; when we got to the end of it, there was a 
"road closed" sign for it!  That was one of the best "closed" roads I've ever 
been on, and I've driven through several.  In worse cars. 



.. this way I can see if my resubscription worked without annoying everyone
(especially Greg!) with a "test message" posting. =)
