Re: [T3] Oil Light Question

<x-flowed>
At a stop in drive (well, "3", right?), do you find that the idle speed increases, then decreases, then increases, etc., oscillating back and forth between lower and higher speeds? I suspect that it is, and that when the idle speed swings low, it goes low enough for the oil pressure to drop below the threshold of your oil pressure switch. Also, you got the engine good and hot with the extended drive at speed, which tends to make the oil pressure light more liable to come on.

My '69 AT hunts at idle when in gear, too, and occasionally will oscillate low enough for the oil light to come on. The problem is not with the oil system, but rather that the engine speed is too low to maintain good oil pressure.

A possible cause of hunting idle is a troublesome auxiliary air regulator. Unfortunately, mine seems to check out fine...
