[T3] Distributor question

I have a 69 Squareback with a stock 1600.  About a year ago I got the engine 
rebuilt and took out the FI and put in some Weber 34 ICTs.  Initially, I put 
in a 009 distributor but now I want to put in the distributor that was 
orinally in there.  The original distributor had an "L" at the end of the VW 
part #.

The question is whether you guys think this is a good idea for me to do.  
And, if I do do this, what should I set the timing to?  With the 009 I used 
to time it at 7.5.  I realize I won't be able to use the vaccum part of the 
distributor.
