Transmission shifts perfectly in all gears going forward - auto or hand shifted. Park seems not to engage properly sometimes after stopping. I tend to use P more than the handbrake ! >It's possible. The transmission was clean, but the TQ got a bit of water in the fluid when I pressure washed it before reassembly. I drained it by siphoning & sucking the fluid out (it tastes terrible when you get it into your mouth !). I doubt if I got it 100% clean & empty as it is damm difficult job >Here too. Russ is probably the only one we have who can comment with real >authority on AT innards. Pretty esoteric stuff. I have took the valve body off of an auto VW Kombi (Vanwagon) which I once owned & it was a pretty easy job. I will give it a try. BTW the car is a late 68 early 69 1600 TL - Type 312, 319 Vin prefix. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
