I don't know. I've done it and it seems to work fine on a stock engine. Gene 
mentioned something about the FI type 3s having a knock sensor, too, but that 
isn't true. I think they mistook the head temp sensor for a knock sensor....

Well, not quite. Flycut usually means to just cut the flat at the face of the 
cylinder surface deeper (to increase the compression ratio) and/or wider (to 
increase the diameter for larger cylinders.)
