I tried Mr. Gasket and they 'are' Hurst but alas they said they no longer support that old a shifter and have no spares even so I think it unlikely that they have complete new shifters for exchange. Does anyone know the difference between a '56-67 bug shifter fitting and a type3? I've been given the heads up on a shifter for one of these NOS and was wondering whether it would fit? Anyway one of the main pivot nylon plates on mine is cracked and I need the platic cover and rubber gaitor so if anyones got a secret stash of hurst parts and wants to part with them, let me know!
