Only replace stuff after you've tested it and confirmed it to be bad. First, adjust the valves, check out the spark plug gap, the point gap, and the timing. Make sure your throttle cable is adjusted right -- when you floor the pedal, does it open the throttle valve all the way? Free horespower. Are any of the vacuum hoses broken or disconnected? Does the distributor vacum can work right? How about the distributor mechanical advance? Free to check. Do you have the Bentley and/or Haynes manual for your car? If not, you'll be guessing for a lot of this. Good luck!!! -Greg ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
