Hmm I found a problem with a connection and it seemed the two were piggybacked together on a fuse. But
it still doesn't explain why the washers wouldn't go off.

However, here is a new question. Did ALL "S" models come w/ a pushbutton switch, as the diagram for the 1500 S indicates?

Because I am pretty sure I've got an S model, all trim, equip. etc, but no pushbutton switches.
