-----Original Message----- From: Mark Fuhriman [mailto:mfuhriman@earthlink.net] ---snip--- Use the 5/16" hose (it's just a smidge bigger than the original 7mm hose and is less prone to splitting when pushed over the fittings) with small worm-gear type hose clamps. There might be better clamp alternatives out there, but worm gear clamps are easy to find. Whatever kind of clamp you use, don't overtighten it or the connection will leak. Go over the entire fuel rail to make sure you don't have any old, cracking, age-hardened rubber hose left in there. I guess you could also check the integrity of the injectors themselves by pulling the injector pairs and doing a visual check of the spray patterns per the instructions in the Bentley manual. -Mark Fuhriman '69 Fastback ---snip--- ---- Hi Mark, That's just the thing I have used 5/16th hose for the short sections but I can't see if that's bit that's leaking, I agree with you that it's the most likely culprit. I've tried the worm type of clamp (Jubilee Clip type), but the new ones I bought were poor quality and started slipping on the threads as I tried to get them tight, I then tried the original style clamps but no joy there either. I'm erring on the side of using a smaller diameter hose to get a good seal but as you say I should check the injectors as per the Bentley. I'll keep you posted. cheers, Dan '73 Fastback '71 Variant ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
