I found that out the hard way- I damaged the upper bolt the first time I took it all apart, and then snapped one off on the other side! ;-) I thought they were just rusty, then I realised that they had pressure on them and needed to be taken off in a certain order. The best way from my experience was to use a little trolley jack to hold tension on the assembly while undoing the top clamping bolt, then let it down for the bottom bolt. (I think I have that the right way round) When you are putting it all back together again, it is the reverse order- do the bottom one up while it is relaxed, then jack the knuckle up to get the top ball joint in and do the bolt up.
