Wheel studs were never used on the air cooled VW's, except the real late
T-2's. What you have should just be threaded in to the drum/rotor. To
remove them, you should be able to double nut them and screw them out.
Tighten 2 nuts onto the stud, one nut tightened against the other, the
back them out.
