I measured the float, and generated a formula for its submerged volume as a function of submerged depth. Then I just held it in a glass of gasoline to see where its equilibrium float depth was. Then I measured the mechanical advantage that the float had on the float valve (it's 3 to 1) and calculated how much deeper the float would have to float to make up for 1 extra psi of fuel pressure behind the stated aperture of the float valve. This was the figure I gave you. There's a certain amount of error in each of the measurements, but not enough to make much of a difference. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
