Wow, how deep did this groove get before it struck oil?

I've seen these grooves here and I've always assumed they were a long ways from 
doing real damage, but I also believe that they tend to form when the sheet is 
either deformed from service or removal, or that some/all of the sheet tin 
screws were loose and this allowed the tin to vibrate and wear into the case.

I'm always careful to straighten the tin as I mount it to make sure that it 
fits well, and I also put ALL the screws in there.
