Okay, I got the trawing from Tyco/Amp and this is the right part. It has the correct locking tab position for our FI connectors. It's interesting that this drawing does not specify the most important dimension in the part, which is the spacing for the thickness of the mating connector, but I'm willing to bet that it will turn out right. The only thing I would question is the finish. The original terminals were all tin plated. The #63241-1 appears to have NO plating; it's just a plain brass part. The -2 part had tin plating but is now obsolete. The #63241-3 option is listed as having a "pre-tin" finish, but I don't know what that means. If it is just a thin tin coat (it's spec'd to the same thickness as the -2 part was) then I'd say this was the more desirable replacement for us. Any idea how much this would increase the cost? -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
