Re: [T3] Idle/Stalling problems with SQBK

Quite a few questions are answered in the original text. Makes for a long msg.

Once warmed up, the car has normal power. No problems getting onto the highway and the
like.

The ECU is a type 4 E-brain. But, it was like that when I bought the car and ran fine so
I left it under the "no broken, don't fix" category. However, I did replace a faulty
pressure sensor, both the old and replacement had untampered black caps, but I wonder if
the faulty pressure sensor could have been specific to the T4 brain now that I think
about it. I have the PS I removed and it's number is 0 280 100 116, which I assume is
the Bosch number, there's also an 030 near the vac. hose connection. Was the one I took
off also a T3 PS?

It has been for the past year, though it was incorrect when I bought the car. Only the
adv. hose is connected to the dist. since I have no vacuum retard canister.

I replaced the VR last summmer/fall. The current VR runs above 14V at medium RPMs.

I am in Chicago and I might be up for a visit to Madison. It is a tricky problem that
does not always surface, though it is becoming more regular. I'll p-mail you about that
possibility.

Thanks again. --jim (in Chicago)
