i think the idea of putting it into a database would be preferred-the airs list is great, but difficult to search through because it is a straightfoward list...anyone with database experience. i have some, but i have never dealt with an html interface for a database...i'll try to fool with this a little in the next week or so and see what i can come up with for a database. -kevin somerville, ma '65 kombi '71 sqbk -----Original Message----- From: Hal Sullivan [mailto:tristessa@pon.net] Sent: Friday, June 27, 2003 1:52 AM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] the friendly list (was valves) 6/26/2003 8:49:51 PM, Jim Adney <jadney@vwtype3.org> wrote: >OTOH, I realize that everyone these days except me wants to have a web site, >AND that Greg's time is finite. I think the most real use its had was when I was hosting the Invasion map for Brian. =) I can't see why a listing like Nathan suggested would need to be very complicated on the execution -- it *could* be done with a fancy-pants database, but a simple list would probably suffice. If Greg would be up to hosting it (are you listening, Greg?) and thinks that a simple HTML-ized list would work, I'd be willing to put it together and maintain it. I'm going to have plenty of free time for the next couple of weeks while my boss gets back on his feet after heart surgery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
