>And you can get them with the FI head sensor hole? I >thought that might be the reason that my local shop >gave me one real VW (w/o sensor hole), one auto linea >(for FI)... > >Aaron These are new heads , not rebuilt German heads. There are two types of heads, The EFI ones with the sensor hole already casted and drilled out way too big for the new old 2003 beetle in Latin America, these heads have very tiney valves that look like they came from a 1300 bug engine , the EFI holes must be modified (welded and tapped) to be used on a type 3 EFI . The other head available is for carbed engines, they have bigger valves similar to stock German heads. These do not have the EFI sensor hole tapped in there but the boss is casted in so it is ready to be drilled and tapped by a machine shop or the seller. The sigle port head is also available new from Volkswagen of Mexico, yes, VW is casted on them. I bought mine from the Bug Patch for 125 bucks , these were the dual port carb style I think to tap the EFI bosses on both heads cost me 10 bucks each. See and call www.bugpatch.com , he does not have them listed but he can order them for you and get them in one to two days, mailing to you will take longer but you must ask if that is an option. If you are interested in them I can help you get them if they cannot mail them to you, they are a small shop but with excellent workmanship.
