[T3] Static timing


Neat way I saw at the German Type 3 meeting last weekend of making a static
timing light was to connect the oil light wire to the points wire and turn the
dynamo belt until the light lit.  That helps check where the point open and the
spark comes.
Of course, it can be done by listening for a small splutter as the points spark,
but it looked kind of neat to me if you're in a spot and haven't a strobe, but
you need to know where the static timing for your engine is (check it after
using a strobe).
