Well, I got the new spark plug wires on. I'm going to leave the plugs themselves for next week. The clamp bolt on the distributor was impossible to get to without removing parts around it, and it was too close to the clamp itself to be able to get a socket on it. I replaced this bolt with a hex head one of the same size. In order to get the bolt out, I had to actually remove the distributor, and of course the car would not start when I put it back in. I tried not to move it at all, but I must have shifted the distributor body a bit. After much panic and trial and error I got it all running again. Well, at least it should be easier next time. I set the timing to what the Bentley said (as I understood it), and it seems okay, except that it has VERY LITTLE power when you first start going. It gets okay at about 10-15 mph. I'm wondering if this is what I'm going to need to put it at to pass emissions, and then move it to one of the marks to the right for better performance. I threw together a quick website with some pictures. If my descriptions don't make sense, hopefully the pictures will clear that up.
