4 is a LOT. It makes me worry more that the uppers are also loose.

It's worth a try. Retorque them and see if it runs better. You may also be able 
to remove the small side plate that surrounds the SP wires and get access to 2 
of the upper nuts. If you find them to be loose also, I think you'd be better 
off biting the bullet and removing the tin and doing all 8. It's a pain, but it 
CAN be done in the car.

Both are possible. You'll know as soon as you try to retorque. Do the easy, 
bottom ones first, so that if they are pulling out, at least you haven't also 
put yourself thru the trouble of taking off the upper shrouding in the car.

Just a guess, 3 to 6 months. Zero months is also quite possible. It's 
completely dependent on driving conditions.
