Russ=> But are you running a T-3 clamp? Yup, on all my distributors. It would be a huge PIA to try to time a Type 3 with a Type 1 clamp, wouldn't it? Maybe my setup, since it's earlier, is different enough to allow that extra bit of clearance -- 6V fan shroud and small-diameter generator, for instance.
