Not knowing this for sure, my impression with the Type3's is that people who are buying them know a little more about what they're worth and what they should expect to pay depending on its condition. It's a little easier for me to see someone paying more for a beetle than what it's worth due to the emotional factor. Everyone has a beetle story, everyone knows what an old beetle looks like. When I mention I have a Squareback to people, a good 3/4 of them have no idea what it is, or "think" they might have seen one before.
