Best theory I've heard so far. 

The word on the "street" has always been that the black injectors flowed more 
fuel, but I couldn't tell the difference, even when I took one of each apart. 
The orifice parts are REALLY small, however, and I don't think I could see or 
measure a difference that would make a 1 part in 15 change.
