>VW Fact#212: The 1966 Type 3 Ghia was first the first stock VW to have a maximum speed of 90 mph. > Maximum speed according to VW literature. I think VW was pessimistic in this matter. YMMV. >I thought owners of the first notchbacks in 1963/64 could get 100mph+ out of their cars (and had pictures to prove it)? > I'd be curious to know if that was on flat ground. A stock '63 I'd want picture proof. A '64 wouldn't surprise me. I'd go fire up the '63 Notch but 100mph+ in 106F is probably not advisable. -- Everett Barnes http://www.thesamba.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
