The engines could fill with fuel under certain condition - full tank, parked upwards on a steep hill. We had it happen to a '64 1500S. The service manager told us it would have resulted in a bent con-rod if we'd tried bump starting the car when it wouldn't turn over due to the hydraulic lock. They fitted the idle shut off valves so it couldn't happen again. > > No, they weren't installed on all engines, and a lot of them were replaced > > with standard idle jets when they stopped working.
