Hold on now! We are so close to getting a replacement mat for our early
cars. There are two major differences between a 61-63 LHD rubber matt and
one for a 64-65 "S and N" matt. The heater control placement. That's really
it! Scott you already have the pattern done by using your 65 square. If
people want they can use the same type cut from you all the way thru 72 when
the seat mounts were changed. As for the earlier crowd a hole will have to
be cut near the shifter to accommodate the heater knob. No big deal, no
major engineering task! ... You are more than welcome to comb thru my 63 with heater knob and sweet matt notch anytime for any future referance or my 62 with almost as
nice simular matt. As my grandpa used to say, KISS keep it simple stupid.

Don't worry, I'm not giving up. I just meant that it's easy to see why no one has made an perfect 3D molded replica (a la ISP West's rear cargo mat): because there were many variations over the years, so one size wouldn't fit all right out of the box. It's true that there is a middle ground that could be found that would fit most cars from 1965 through 72 as long as the buyer was o.k. with doing some of the finish trimming. That's fine if they're being hand made like mine, but maybe not realistic for a manufactured product. The 1961-64 mats really are a little different from the others because of the heater tube on the front bulkhead.

Thanks for offering your Notches for study, I'll take you up on that.
