Jim A. He will probalby be getting ahold of you for a distributor

I didn't want to tear it apart, and then not be able to get him running
again. I set the points a little wide to make sure he gets home.
Russ, the dizzy he has installed is an incorrect L or AB -- I
gave him wrong advice re: what to pick up at the Bug-o-Rama. (I've
let him know that by phone since then.) The AC that was in his car
has trouble with the mech. advance return or something. I also gave
him a "naked" AC body & shaft. We should probably suggest that he
have Jim look at one of these.
(If he comes your way, Jim, and you talk distributors, ask
him to show you all of them that he has...)
His valves were a little tight, and he has an exhaust leak. One of the
big nuts is completely unscrewed, and I couldnt get it to start without
cross threading, so I left it for him until he can take the whole
exhaust loose to start it.
Aha! I had only found the loose clamp on the right big heat
exchanger, but it seemed pretty noisy. Good spotting, Russ. Bummer
-- I could have set him up with a decent used exhaust w/ small
exchangers when he was at my place...
The car is pretty rust free. That will be rare for the Boston area.
I looked at the "lip" on the front hood with California eyes,
but didn't say anything -- it had the tiniest hints of starting (I
know what happened to my '71 in Michigan), but you're right, Russ --
it is very good metal for Boston.
Glad he could have the car checked out by one of the gurus!!!
