my mechanic friend did that with the rotor and it wasn't doing what he wanted it to do. so he cleaned the points and that seemed to help. one of the injector is leaking a little bit and the other one needs to be replaced (per my mechanic). i just got 4 brand new (in the box) injectors off ebay for $93.00, after looking around and finding that they are like $60 a pop. so i guess i lucked out, and have spare ones in case. the place i took her to initially get fixed was a place close to my house called Tassi's, the place has been around for quite some time and the owner is an older gentleman by the name of Bruce. he's pretty cool. i can't remember exactly what they did but i know the electrical system had major problems and they were fixed. i live in daly city, california. right outside of san francisco. if you know of any other places in the area (besides Tassi's in Colma, and another place called Donsco that is in Belmont, CA) i would totally appreciate it! janina '71 squareback --- Jim Adney <jadney@vwtype3.org> wrote: > On 23 Jul 2003 at 16:38, janina wrote: > > > what it was doing (slow to get going after > > stopping at a light, sometimes dying) > > This does NOT sound like an injector problem. > > You should check to make sure that the mechanical > advance is working.
