So I haven't done a compression test in a while. Any > recommendations what to look/look out for? I've always felt that this was easier on the FI cars than with dual carbs. Some manuals recommend removing one of the carbs to get at one of the spark plugs. I've never done this, but I wonder what the dual carb people think. My compression gauge is from Snap-On. It was the only one I could find that was long enough. The type 3 cooling tin requires a longer reach than in a beetle. It is one of those that you have to hold in place. I think that's a lot easier to use, but it does require a second person to turn the key and crank the engine over. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
