I assumed it wasn't supposed to do this. It's me again. The problem is not as fixed as I thought, but at least I believe I have tracked it down. Sometimes, when I turn the key to the second notch with the starter disconnected, the dash warning lights go out. I think the fuel gauge goes down to zero too. This says to me there is a big short. the solution is to pull the wires off the back of the ignition switch and put them back on. This fixes it. As I am pretty sure the "50" wire is OK, what is the likelihood of a short _inside_ the ignition switch? I suspect that a certain method of wiggling the wires would probably fix it too. So, I think I have a duff ignition switch, and I "think" the problem may be that the "15" terminal is a bit loose, I can wiggle it. Other than that, everything seems to work great. Nothing seems to be heating up, no fuses blow. I've had practically everything running at once with no problems. I haven't tried driving with the headlights on anything yet. Anyone have any other ideas, before I pull off the steering wheel and put a new ignition switch in?
