I'm afraid that when I started working on this a couple of years ago, I was a bit naive. Now I have to tidy everything up. The hot side of the fuse is the one with the metal bridges connecting groups of fuses together, right? This allows various wires to be connected together without going via a fuse, and to others via a fuse. This is the way it is shown in the manual. My car is in for a couple of days downtime while I get it sorted out, but should end up a lot better for it.
