The idea was to allow water to drain from the air intake boxes and not mix into the air intake of the engine. Water is heavier than air so it will fall to the lower part of the box and collect, so hence the need for the drain. >Bentley's says to make sure that neither of the seals are >cracked so as to make sure that no dust, or minimal dust, >is allowed into the cooling system. Should I worry about this? The main thing to be concerned about is that they open to let waterout. If the water gets collected there it will start to rust. >Does anyone know where I could find a new or used pair in good >condition? You might try some of the "rust belt" guys, as most of our cars rust out and the rubber is usually still good. >If not, and I'm assuming this isn't a huge concern, is there anything >I can do to at least slightly remedy this? You might try to find some soft, flexible rubber to replace these with, but if they are still working, I wouldn't really worry about them. I hope this helps.
