[T3] 1500S Fuel Question...

I have a 1500S engine in my '64 Sedan... I recently acquired the real 
owners manual and it states that the 1500S engine was designed to run 
on premium gasoline.  Is this still recommended after all these years 
and how many of you on the list with this particular engine still 
follow this?
