The lower 2 to 2 1/2" was pretty shot ( I had experience with this repair as I did it to my own Notch lid before), it was supposed to be a nice rust free lid to replace my Notch lid, but that didn't happen. The section in front of it started out as 3 pieces of flat steel about 7" wide welded together. The front hood started out as a very rusty 72 hood, modified to fit. It still has the fold down rear seat, and all the fenders unbolt, keeping with the type3 Squareback theme. Thanks for your interest.
