RE: [T3] Empi seat belt instalation '69 square ?????


This assuption is correct.
I plan to make a nice sized steel plate to be welded to the lower part of
the pillar and sheet metal below it with a footprint large enough to be
structurally sound. Once that is completed I will need to find more of the
white plastic material that covers the interior metal parts.... To make it
look nice. Is that stuff available ?

OTOH, maybe you're talking about mounting them right side up, but lower on
the 
C pillar so that the belt then feeds up to the top of the pillar, then down
to 
the center buckle, and then out to the lower outside anchor. There's a
problem 
with this, too, as it requires that you anchor the reel to something that
was 
not made to take the force of a seat belt anchor point. You should know that

each of the OE seat belt anchor points is either into thicker material, or
is 
reinforced to make it suitable for this service.
