This assuption is correct. I plan to make a nice sized steel plate to be welded to the lower part of the pillar and sheet metal below it with a footprint large enough to be structurally sound. Once that is completed I will need to find more of the white plastic material that covers the interior metal parts.... To make it look nice. Is that stuff available ? Thanks John OTOH, maybe you're talking about mounting them right side up, but lower on the C pillar so that the belt then feeds up to the top of the pillar, then down to the center buckle, and then out to the lower outside anchor. There's a problem with this, too, as it requires that you anchor the reel to something that was not made to take the force of a seat belt anchor point. You should know that each of the OE seat belt anchor points is either into thicker material, or is reinforced to make it suitable for this service. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
