RE: [T3] Empi seat belt instalation '69 square ?????

Here is what I've learned.
The take up reel needs to have a mounting bracket cyustom made and welded to
the pillar just below the stock hole for the pillar loop.

OR

Does anybody know where I could find a OEM shoulder belt for the a type3
1969 square ? A shoulder harness was offered as optional equipment so one
must exist somewhere.

Thanks Jim-

Cheers
john

This is a front seat kit, but it MIGHT work in a back seat. Note also that
it
says for type 1 sedans. Assuming that it can be made to work in the rear
seat
of your square, here's what you would have to do.

Remove the original rear belts and keep the mounting hardware for possible
use
with the new belts.

The new buckle anchors on the stiff flexible stems mount on the inboard
anchor
bolts.

The reels mount on the outboard bolts, as do the other ends of the webbing.

The anchor that slides along the webbing mounts to the upper anchor point on

the C pillar, so, when stored, the webbing runs from a lower fixed point, up
to
the C pillar, and back down to the take-up reel.

I'm not sure that you're going to be happy with this setup. The takeup reel
may
be too big to fit in there and still allow the rear seat bottom to go back
down, and this may make the rear seat almost impossible to fold down in the
future.
