It goes to a wire harness through the center of the firewall. I will try to 
follow it.

Backup lights never worked.

It did, I haven't tried it since disconnecting the wire. I will try it now.

The termninal block is black plastic screwed to the left side of the intake 
air distributor. It does not have an arm that the throttle lever pushes when 
you push the pedal down all the way. It does have a small white button on 
the bottom that clicks when you push it. It is part number 003 927 211.
