I guess I haven't done many of the ATs and obviously I was thinking of the MT 
cars. I can't visualize what would be in the way with an AT. I think that bolt 
is quite long on an AT so the head is quite a bit farther forward than on an MT 
car. It's possible that the charcoal cannister is in the way. The dipstick tube 
certainly come up there, but I think an extension would get around that. 

It's possible that you didn't have quite the right length of extension.
