Good day to everyone, I'm back from a road trip to the NE, NYC, DC, etc. Found this picture in a trunk at my mom's house, "http://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/index.mv?photo+94072.jpg" asked my Dad, he seems to remember it was a '50 or '51 vert, he traded it for a Borgward after they were married to keep the rapidly growing family comfy. Too bad, I would donate a body part for that car nowadays (I know, but I'm married with kids so there are spare body parts I don't use that often anymore, if you get my drift). AAR, to bring it back on topic- what's the earliest anyone got into VW's, Type 3's specifically? Besides my parents Bugs that we always had one of while growing up, I had access to my step-mom's '71 Square for a while in the late '70's but that really wasn't mine. My first Type 3 I owned was my '63 Notch that I picked up in '84 so I've been in for ~20 years. Winner to get bragging rights and maybe some fake schwag, who know's? Anyone?
