> Any tips on using the rubbing compound, aside from >what's printed on the can? How harsh is it? The site posted earlier was pretty detailed on all of what is available. As for actual use of the rubbing compound, what i have used seems a lot like clay. Use it wet, just a little moisture to help move you along. Do not worry to much about all those warnings though of the compound being to abrasive, done by hand you really will not do any real harm. Wash car first, use clean tee shirt- all the common sense stuff. Use a white tee shirt and as you mentioned with that other product and you can watch for your car color on your rag. Some is fine, just something to see what you are doing. If you need a good 'cleaning' then you will be removing material. I last used this on my parts getter (truck) and saw mostly black from my red S-10? ~ all dirt and crud, even though I had washed it. Re: waxing afterwards, I used one of those cheapy like-wax products once (might have been a polish). Then following week went for a car-wash, washed most the shine off (self-wash water was hot, but come on?) wax-on~ ~ wax-off ~ ~ -John R. 69 Fastbacks x2 - neither really worthy of a wax right now : ( __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
